Steven A Johnson asked:

Water makes up about 70% of all our bodies. The rest of your body is made up of other solutions. The Potential of Hydrogen, or the pH, measures the amount of acidity or alkalinity in those solutions (the hydrogen ion concentration). The more alkaline and oxygen rich the body solution is the higher the pH is. A lower pH reading has a more acidic and oxygen deprived solution. The scale for pH range is 0 to 14 and 7.0 is the neutral medium. Above 7.0 is alkaline and below is acidity. Our bodies are slightly alkaline, about 7.35 to 7.45. if the pH balances changes to above 7.8 or below 6.8 the body will stop functioning.

Some acidic foods are animal protein, caffeine, sugar, and processed foods. This can cause the body to deplete its alkaline minerals. These minerals are potassium, sodium, magnesium, and calcium. This will cause the body to be prone to disease. Borrowed minerals from the bodies organs and bones control the acid and remove it from the body. A well balanced pH can allow a proper metabolism and will help fight off disease. having a body that has too much alkaline can be just as dangerous, it tends to take longer for a person who is alkaline to balance than someone who is acidic.

Some foods that have high Acidity are blueberries, cranberries, prunes, peanuts, walnuts, beef, pork, shellfish, cheese, milk, ice cream, chocolate, beer and many soft drinks. Some foods that are acidic but in low amounts and safe are honey, molasses, plums, processed fruit juices, cooked spinach, kidney beans, string beans, sunflower seed , corn oil, wheat bread, venison, cold water fish, eggs, yogurt, butter, buttermilk, cottage cheese, and tea. Replacing high acid foods with the low acid foods will help to prevent having an acidic body.

Some foods that are high in alkaline are lemons, watermelon, limes, grapefruit, mangos, papayas, asparagus, onions, parsley, raw spinach, broccoli, garlic, and olive oil. Some foods that have a lower alkalinity are raw sugar, oranges, bananas, cherries, pineapples, carrots, tomatoes, mushrooms, cabbage, peas, potatoes skins, olives, soybeans and tofu, goat milk, soy milk, soy cheese, and whey. Replacing some of the more high alkaline foods with the lower alkaline foods will help against having a body that has to much alkalinity.

Testing your pH will help you to know whether or not you have anything to worry about. You can use pH test stripes to do this. If your urine is between 6.0 and 6.5 in the morning and between 6.5 and 7.0 in the evening then it is normal. If you do a saliva test then your range should be between 6.5 and 7.5. About one hour before a meal or about 2 hours after a meal are the best times to test your pH. And its recommended that a person should test there pH about two times a week.

Acidosis is when the body is to acidic. Mild acidosis can even cause cardiovascular damage, weight gain, obesity, and diabetes. It can also cause bladder and kidney conditions. Immunity deficiency and acceleration of the by product damage maybe even causing cancerous cell mutations. Premature aging, weak brittle bones, hip fractures, and bone spurs are more symptoms. Also joint pain aching muscles and lactic acid build up, lower energy levels and chronic fatigue too.

Bob Smith asked:

Are you interested in finding out your pH level, but have never been taught how to do it?

pH (potential of hydrogen) is a measure of the acidity or alkalinity of a solution. It is measured on a scale of 0 to 14; the lower the pH the more acidic the solution, the higher the pH the more alkaline the solution. When a solution is neither acid nor alkaline it has a pH of 7, which is neutral. Water is the most abundant compound in the human body, comprising 70% of the body. The body has an acid-alkaline (or acid-base) ratio called the pH which is a balance between positively charges ions and negatively charged ions. The body continually strives to balance pH.

Foods can be “acid-forming” and “alkaline-forming”. Diet appears to be the major influence in maintaining appropriate pH levels throughout the body. Nowadays, most diets we intake are unhealthy and incline our pH level to acidic side. Therefore, it is always recommendable to intake proper alkaline forming foods which provide a better pH balance for your body. The less acid-forming foods you eat, the better your pH balance will be. Supplements are also great additions which have great potential in returning your body to a natural state of health. You can achieve vibrant health and energy by balancing the acidity and alkalinity in your body.

Testing your internal pH level with the help of pH test strips gives you an instant, credible snapshot of your overall health. Your body fluids are an incredibly reliable measurement and reflection of the fuel you give your body. This type of testing is invaluable because it allows for a preventative health approach, rather than waiting for a disorder to develop. You can determine quickly and easily, in the privacy of your own home, what your pH is. Spitting on a penny’s worth of pH paper will generally be a good indicator of how acid or alkaline your total body pH is.

Phion Balance offers a super sensitive and affordable pH test strips that gives you an extremely accurate reading of how acidic or alkaline your tissues really are. PHion pH Stix is the leading pH testing strips for the body. As the strips are separated in small 0.25 unit increments, you’ll know down to the decimal what your pH is. Moreover, pH test strips offered by phion can test both urine and saliva to give you the most complete picture of your pH.

Steffen A.Hall :

High acidity can become a dangerous condition that weakens all major body systems. It makes your internal environment conducive to disease. A pH-balanced environment, on the other hand, allows proper metabolic functioning and gives your body resistance to disease. A healthy body maintains alkaline reserves that are used to meet emergency demands.

Researchers find that most people are at least slightly “acidic”; their pH is low. If your pH is too acidic, your body borrows minerals – such as calcium, magnesium, potassium and sodium – from vital organs and bones to neutralize and remove the acid. Although high acidity may not be outwardly noticeable, it can severely affect overall health in a negative way. Alkalinity in the body is much more rare, but just as potentially serious. It often takes longer for a person who is “alkaline” to achieve balance than one who is “acidic.”

Water is the most abundant compound in the human body, comprising 70% of the body. The body has an acid-alkaline (or acid-base) ratio called the pH, which is a balance between positively charged ions (acid-forming) and negatively charged ions (alkaline-forming.) The body continually strives to balance pH. When this balance is compromised many problems can occur.

It is important to understand that we are not talking about stomach acid or the pH of the stomach. We are talking about the pH of the body fluids and tissues, which is an entirely different matter.

It is recommended that you test your pH levels to determine if your body pH needs immediate attention. By using pH test strips, you can determine your pH factor quickly and easily in the privacy of your own home. If your urinary pH fluctuates between 6.0 to 6.5 in the morning and between 6.5 and 7.0 in the evening, your body is functioning within a healthy range. If you saliva stays between 6.5 and 7.5 all day, your body is functioning within a healthy range. The best time to test your pH is about one hour before a meal and two hours after a meal. Test your pH two days a week.
