Help with knee problem? I have had these problems since I was 11 I am 16 now! Please help?

none asked:

I have Patella Chondromalacia, Patella Femoral Syndrome, Arthritis, and Bursitis in my right knee, and all except Bursitis in my left knee, plus a meniscus tear, minor, just from surgery. My right knee is the worst and I have tremendous pain. I have had 6 surgeries total on my knees. I have tried therapy and pain medications, and I go to a pain managment doctor and an ortho. I have tried everything from narcotics to natural remedies, to therapy, to yoga, and nothing seems to help with the pain. Right now I am on Darvocet for the pain. But it doesnt help all that much. Maybe a couple hourse, until I take the next pill….although it is helpful for the few hours it lasts, it is not enough. Any suggestions on a doctor I should see, or medicines, or anything?
Your opinion would be great.
I have had 4 surgeries to put my knee caps back in place and for a lateral release, and 2 soft tissue reconstuctions surgeries in my knees.
I also have Fibromyalgia and sleep problems. Any suggestions?
Any tips, doctos or websites would be helpful.
I had this treatment done where they use negative and positive with a magnet and it pushes the med into your skin, instead of a needle
It did not help.
i have been to cleveland clinic
and i tried the childrens hospital here, not sucessful at all, ATTT ALL!

I have had acupuncture and it also did not help.
What is homeopathy?

Yikes…I have Patella Femoral Syndrome also…and had the surgery where they scrape under the knee cap. That, along with anti-inflammatory pills, helped me a lot. But your problem seems a lot worse.

I also have recurrent bursitis in my elbow (tennis elbow) and I had a Cortizone shot in my elbow that hurt like hell, but this too helped for awhile. That eventually wore off and my elbow hurts again….but other than that…I don’t know what to say after trying everything you’ve tried. My mom would say “Just chop it off!” lol

1–Are you near (or can you get to) a teaching hospital or a “children’s hospital”? They may have the most up-to-date, even revolutionary treatments available that a doctor in a small town, or even a good-sized city, may not have.

2–There are some doctors who specialize in doing research oer patients’ request regarding their illness. A large hospital may be able to refer you to one.

3–Hook up via the web with other patients on sites like about.com where they have patient forums and articles (they have a health site as well as a specific ortho site: )

4–Consider homeopathy for your sleep trouble; I’ve had some success with it.

5–Consider an accupuncturist to help with the pain and mobility problems. (DON’T do accupuncture and homeopathy at the same time! Their healing modalities are different and may conflict such that you get little benefit of either.)
