Lyme Disease
and Alternative Medical Treatment

Lyme disease mostly occurs in northeastern USA,but has been reported in other
countries. The disease is transmitted by ixodid ticks, which become infected from biting deer and mice, both
of which carry the infection.
The bite from an infected tick usually produces a red lump with a scab, days or a few weeks later a
distinctive papular skin rash at the site of the bite is noticed.

Other symptoms associated with the appearance of the rash are, fatigue,flu-like chills, headache
and joint pains.Multiple skin lesions may appear at different stages of development, and there may be regional
lymphadenopathy.
Migratory acute arthritis is one of the most common symptoms of systemic disease.Long after the
initial bite, perhaps some years later , organ involvement may become apparent, knee joints may be targeted,
chronic infection of the brain may occur. Carditis may be present with rhythm disturbances, pericarditis and heart
failure.
Medically Lyme Disease is treated with a wide range of antibiotics, used singly or in
combination.Even with aggressive treatment a significant number of people show signs of disease progression.
Alternative Medicine's Treatment for Lyme Disease

Matthew Wood writes in The Book of Herbal Wisdom:: Teasel (Dipsacus sylvestris) is a powerful
remedy for Lyme Disease, he notes that the herb has cured five out of five cases he has treated", these were
chronic cases.
Assuming the bite was noticed in the early stages, then the
homeopathic remedy Ledum 200c is most applicable for bites of this kind. If the bite has gone
unnoticed, and the disease manifestations have changed from the initial red lump, to arthralgia, fever etc, then
other more appropriate remedies would have to be given, that would be better left to a qualified homeopath, for
it's no longer a case of first-aid, but rather one of systemic disease. Lyme disease needs to be
treated ASAP, before it gathers momentum and becomes a systemic disease.
Nature's Pharmacy reports:"In hundreds of cases of Lyme disease received by referral from a medical
office, homeopathy has proven to be remarkably effective. These cases were referred because the patient's symptoms
had returned after treatment with antibiotics. The remedy that resolved these patient's symptoms was a German
formulation of homeopathic Borrelia. As is typical of homeopathic treatment, the symptoms tended to get worse before
they got better(the healing crisis). But then symptoms generally disappeared permanently".
Using Borrelia to treat Lyme disease is Isopathy, not homeopathy, the patient was treated
with a dilution of Borrelia burgdorferi, which is the spirochete that caused the disease. Regardless
of the modality used ,success in treating Lyme disease is recommendation enough.
