Acid alkaline balance diet can best be achieved by eating mostly fresh green vegetables and grasses.

Research has demonstrated that the Western diet is predominantly acidic, and because of this body ph becomes unbalanced, resulting in increased risk for many of the diseases people experience.

Certain dietary supplements, particularly those referred to as green food have been shown to improve energy, and overall well-being.

An alkaline diet has been shown to promote new levels of health, capable of resisting infections, in contrast to the acid waste build up from a normal Western diet. Indulgence in fast foods, highly processed foods, too much sugar, meat and dairy, with very little green food, results in an over- acidification of the body creating a favorable environment for degenerative diseases.

When the blood ph is too acidic, there is an increased risk for infections,  and growth of mirco organisms. When the body ph is unbalanced, cellular activities and functions are impaired, resulting in disease and rapid aging.

Any number of health problems result from and overly acidic body ph, these include, arthritis, muscle pain, gastritis,high blood pressure, fatigue, obesity, food cravings, high cholesterol, sleep disorders, to name just a few.

A study reported in the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition 2009, 5:20doi:10.1186/1550-2783-5-20 , indicated that the " net acid load of the typical Western diet has the potential to influence many aspects of human health, most notably osteoporosis".

" When a daily diet with a high net acid load becomes the rule, rather than the exception, this chronic, low grade level of metabolic acidosis may influence bone integrity, and other aspects of human health".

As for which foods are acid forming, and which foods are alkaline, if a diet consists of mostly fresh vegetables, which are mostly raw, and very little meat, and no processed food, then that diet would tend to be alkaline. Whereas ,if the diet is high in animal proteins, processed food, fast food, sodas, and trans fats, then this diet is acidic.

Green foods, increase health and energy, and destroy harmful bacteria. Fresh green vegetables and grasses, such as wheat and barley grass, are nutrient rich foods which form the ideal acid alkaline diet.
